Job Title: Senior Business Analyst (Gas and Power Trading)
Location: Canary Wharf, 3 days per week on site
Pay Rate: PAYE £790 per day / Umbrella (Inside IR35) £940 per day
Contract Length: 8 months, Temporary
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the selection, implementation, and integration of a new exchange platform to replace existing systems. This role sits within Gas and Power Trading function and requires a deep understanding of electronic trading processes, ETRMs, and compliance requirements.

As the Senior Business Analyst you will work closely with trading desks to optimise the use of platforms such as Trayport and TT across all traded commodities. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless execution of trades, accurate integration with ETRM systems, and alignment with compliance requirements, including algorithmic execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the selection and integration of a new exchange platform for third-party execution and internal transactions.
  • Collaborate with trading desks to enhance use of electronic trading platforms (Trayport, TT, others).
  • Document business processes for trading between business units and communicate changes to technical teams.
  • Ensure electronically executed trades are accurately recorded in ETRM systems (OpenLink Endur and in-house tools).
  • Capture compliance requirements for electronic trading are captured, including algorithmic execution.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across front office, IT, operations, and compliance.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and support delivery.
  • Apply technical skills, including SQL analysis and code branching, to support development teams.

What we are looking for

  • Proven track record as a Senior Business Analyst in commodity trading environments.
  • Strong knowledge of European gas, power, and emissions trading processes.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic exchange platforms (Trayport, TT) and ETRM systems.
  • Understanding of compliance monitoring and algorithmic execution in trading.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and requirement elicitation skills.
  • Technical expertise in SQL, data interrogation, and version control workflows.
